Buffalo, NY - GREAT NEWS! Sen. Chuck Schumer has moved from “Undecided” to “Yes” on Net Neutrality. This is the Statement our fine senator will release later today!

Statement of Senator Schumer on Net Neutrality:

"I believe the Internet has the power to enhance one of the most fundamental values of our democracy: freedom of speech. That's why I support the free flow of information on the Internet and enforceable network neutrality. I will oppose the flawed and limiting provisions in Senator Stevens' bill, S. 2686, which do not prevent providers from discriminating against Internet traffic from competitors. If the Stevens bill is not changed to protect network neutrality, I will oppose it. Network neutrality has allowed the Internet to be an engine of economic innovation, democratic participation, and free speech. Eliminating it would be a serious mistake."

Even though we have been heard, we still want you to attend the event on Wednesday!! Why do you ask?

Because now Buffalo is in the national spotlight (again!) as we change the message of our event to thank Sen. Schumer for listening to his constituents.

WE NEED A BIG CROWD on Wednesday because every news clip and photo of this event will be circulated nationally by the SaveTheInternet.com Coalition so other politicians who are undecided see that constituents will have their senator's back if they ignore the corporate lobbyists and do the right thing on Net Neutrality.

This is another chance to show America that WNY can work together and get stuff done!!

Please plan on joining us Wednesday, 30 Aug 2006, 12:00 PM
